  • So when is OSDN going to offer slash certification?

I can see the questions now:

If you set $constants->{basedir}="" what will happen to a slashsite?

What is the proper response for a customer who refuses to compile apache and mod_perl as the INSTALL document shows to do:
      1. spend 8 hours extra dealing with them, eat the cost to you.
      2. charge them the extra time involved for it.
      3. ignore them, you don't need the hassle

If you want to filter out goatse.cx from all of a site, which Slash::Display::Template::Filters would be most appropriate?

    :)

  • In the UK (preferably London or Cambridge) I can offer consultancy on slash. I don't pretend to be an expert on slash but I have installed two systems before and am an experienced perl and java contractor. Oh - and I still haven't got many submissions for the slash faq :-(

If your bandwidth requirements aren't huge I can host it as well.

  • You could be part of that list.
    Slash is OpenSource...
off course ...never better than Krow or Pudge ;-)
  • I wonder if a Slash-Onsite, along with SourceForge Onsite, could help make VA some more money. They really should be trying to sell consulting and additional services.

And yes, I say this as a LNUX stockholder... :-(

BTW, I too can help you set up a Slash site. Not a Slash expert, but am learning. :-) See yoderdev.com [yoderdev.com]

  • We have lived with slashcode for 2 year now and now we are developing some plugins and making some installations and projects ad hoc for other companies.
  • Third Sector Technologies have been using slash since spring 2000, and we have done several slash projects and some custom programming to extend slash. Here's a list of our slash efforts: Send email to info@thethirdsector.com [mailto] for an estimate on your project.

  • Certification? Hmmm interesting idea but to be honest I find most of those pieces of paper to be garbage. Best way you can show off your skill is 1) create cool sites 2) create cool demos 3) Create cool themes
Note on themes, I have had a ton more support in fry for themes, so if you want to give out a theme wait till we start putting up tar balls of fry. Fry has a THEME file like the plugins have a PLUGIN file.
I am actually quite excited about Fry. It has new features, scales better and just plain rocks for a number of things. I am hoping that sometime in the next 30 days I will have time to upgrade slashcode.

I have worked in tandem with these guys doing interface refinement & development for NERock.com. (it's going to be great when once it's officially released!).

I worked hard to incorporate a link engine & NNTP newsgroup interface into the Slash "engine", while Third Sector provided additonal Slash refinements.

I am available to provide this service & assist with other Slash interface development projects.
