Modifying Hall of Fame

posted by Krow on 10:34 AM May 2nd, 2002   Printer-friendly   Email story
I am currently running 2.0, and I am looking to modify the Hall of Fame. Currently it displays the Top Ten Items, and I would like to change it to display the top 25 or the top 100 items, or whatever.

This would make things more interesting as traffic picks up, and would be more useful in seeing what stories generate the most interest.

  • What is (and how it's) displayed can be altered in main;hof;default.

    The number of items is (Stock 2.2.5 Slash/Hof-Plugin) controlled via hardcoded 'LIMIT x' directives appended to the SQL-statements in Slash/DB/MySQL/MySQL.pm

    (countStories(), countStoriesTopHits(), ...)

    funny, there's a brightness dial on the monitor, but the users don't get any smarter

  • Grab the latest HOF plugin from CVS. It has all the improvements that you need.

    You can't grep a dead tree.
  • I first though along the lines of Modifications Hall of Fame. I.E. a collection of all the crazy interface and design modifications slash administrators have performed.

    What a let-down.
