Emailing Stories into a Slash Site?

posted by Krow on 01:31 PM December 2nd, 2002   Printer-friendly   Email story
Is it possible to email a story into a slash site rather then using the web interface? I have a slash site setup as a company bulletin board. One of the things I'm attempting to do is reduce the number of staff wide emails by having them posted on the slash site. I figure if I start positing these messages to the slash site and people receive the daily email of last day's news they will start to use it. Any suggestions?

  • There was discussion about this a year or so ago, and someone had a hack where you could do this. I have no idea if it works on the latest version of Slash.

I'm still waiting for some sort of file/image upload functionality in slash...

It's either on the beat or off the beat, it's that easy.
    • I have a plugin that needs to be debugged in CVS.

The file image/uploading is coming. There is a patch for it on SF that I need to look at.

We have an internal request for this support though that has to come to first. I am hoping to see the design docs completed soon (which means I start coding it).

You can't grep a dead tree.

That was me, and it's not working with Slash 2.2 or higher because the comment system has changed: script saved new messages as stories, replies to those messages as comments.

If something is gonna be cooked inside Slash, go for that, or just email me if you wish.
